Mercedes Concept S-Class Coupe (video)

Mercedes Concept S-Class Coupe

The Frankfurt Motor Show is this week and Mercedes brought out their Concept S-Class Coupe. No longer under their short-lived CL-Class model, the planned production coupe will once again be sold under the popular S-Class moniker. Style-wise, the concept features a CLA-like nose on a larger model with a more intricate grill.   Like other Mercedes coupes, this one has a  a pillar-free greenhouse to give the cabin an open feel, while the rear is a bit reminiscent of the SLS AMG gull-wing coupe.

The S-Class Coupe is powered by their popular 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8, which pushes out 449 hp, but if it makes it into production, it would most likely feature a higher-power version. Inside, expect it to feel like any other S-Class model around with a few changes over sedan models – such as a three-spoke steering wheel and a center-console-mounted bank of world time zone clocks.
