Exposure 7, with non-destructive RAW editing!

Alien Skin Software Exposure 7Alien Skin Software announced the latest version of its popular Exposure photography effects software today, version 7. Exposure 7 enables digital photographers to achieve accurate analog film emulation and creative effects faster and easier than ever. The biggest addition with this latested update is the standalone program for non-destructive RAW editing, of course it can still be used as a plug-in for Lightroom and Photoshop as well for even greater flexibility.

Aside from RAW support, the latest Exposure update provides rapid folder and file browsing, so you can quickly pull up individual photos or batches of images and get right to work on them. A crop-and-rotate tool and easy exporting functionality rounds out the new additions to the standalone version’s user interface.

Exposure 7 brings all the tools and styles of the old darkroom techniques to the world of digital. The most popular of which is the ability to emulate several of the most popular discontinued films, classics like Kodachrome, Velvia and TRI-X have been carefully analyzed in order to faithfully simulate their characteristic tonal ranges and grain structures. For color photographs, new versions of Kodak Portra 160, 400 and 800 are present and correct, as are Fuji Pro 800Z, Sensia X-TRA 400 and 800, and Kodak Gold 200 and 400. For monochrome images, Ilford XP2 400, Kodak BW400CN and T-MAX 400 have been added and Exposure’s split toning effects have all been updated and enhanced. A complete list of film styles can be found on the Exposure 7 website Dozens of new textures developed by industry-leading photographers Lara Jade, Parker J Pfister and Andrew Funderburg have also been added.

Along with the film styles there are over 470 additional preset effects which you can apply with a single click. Exposure 7 integrates both color and black-and-white processing so there is no need to switch between tools. With so many options you’re bound to be overwhelmed, thankfully you can find a library of tutorial videos and example images on Alien Skin’s website.

Exposure 7 will be available for immediate download on December 10th, 2014 from www.alienskin.com for $149 USD. If you already own a copy of Exposure 5 or below you can upgrade to 7 for $69, and free upgrades will be automatically sent to everyone who purchased Exposure 6 directly from Alien Skin.
