LG OPTIMUS G PRO Smartphone with 5.5-Inch Screen

LG’s newest giant Optimus G Pro, which will be available in North America this spring, features the largest smartphone screen LG has ever made: a 5.5-inch display.

You can compare that to the Samsung Galaxy S3′s 4.8-inch screen size. Size-wise, the Optimus G Pro seems to fall somewhere between your average smartphone and a small tablet.  The Kindle Fire’s screen size is 7.1 inches, while the iPad mini is 7.9 inches.

The Optimus G Pro also boasts full HD 1080p resolution and a screen density of 400 pixels-per-inch, which is one of the highest screen densities out there.  The Galaxy S3 only has a pixel density of 306 PPI, for example. The HTC One, which is coming out in late march, has a smaller screen than the G Pro (4.7 inches), but does beat out the Optimus G Pro in pixel density (468 PPI).

The Optimus G Pro also has some pretty cool video features, including a duel recording mode for its cameras. In other words, you can record full 1080p HD video with both cameras simultaneously for a unique picture-in-picture experience. The Optimus G Pro’s rear camera has a 13-megapixel sensor; the front camera has 2.1-megapixel resolution.

The smartphone is equipped with a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and 32 GB of storage, which can be doubled with a microSD card. It operates on Android Jelly Bean.
